KEES began with a question:

What happens when you look at something left behind with real attention?

Forgotten leather. Selvage from a Japanese loom. Remnants nobody wanted. Textiles pulled from the pile marked over and done.

We saw a future in it.

Not recycled. Not repurposed. Gathered. Storied materials with beauty still inside.

Every KEES bag holds two journeys: what the material has already lived, and what it's about to.

To SEEK is to see what's possible. To look for ourselves: the parts of us still becoming, the journey each of us is somewhere in the middle of, and this wonderful world we get to experience.

Each piece carries its own first life:  where it came from, what it was before. We don't dwell on it. We just don't forget it. It's why the journey doesn't end with us.

It continues now with you.

OUR PRACTICE

Every KEES bag starts with ...

Seeing potential where others see finished

Leather remnants, salvaged textiles, upholstery pulled before it hit a landfill. We source it, sort it, and let the material tell us what it wants to become. Some pieces call for structure. Others want to stay soft, imperfect, close to how we found them.

Making beauty that answers to no one

It's hand-cut. Hand-stitched. Finished one bag at a time, start to finish, by the same hands throughout.

No two pieces are identical, because no two materials arrive the same way. That's not limitation. It's the whole point. A bag that's mass-produced can be replaced. One that's bespoke can't.

Celebrating who we are becoming

To make something this way, you have to look closely. You have to seek out what's worth keeping before you can see what it's capable of.

When you carry a KEES, you're carrying proof:

to seek is to find, to carry is to keep.

To carry something forward, you first have to seek it out.

The material worth saving.

The life worth living.

The version of yourself still ahead of you.

Every bag is bespoke.

Made once.

Made by hand.

The place where what has been found meets

what is still being sought.

To seek is to see what's possible.

Abstract Fabric Pattern

Heritage Fabrics

In our daily lives we often come across beautiful fabrics that were once pillows, or the upholstery on a chair, or even when traveling to exotic places. These heavier weight fabrics can make a very special, one of a kind, KEES bag.

CUSTOM OPTIONS

When you are seeking something more personal:

Clothes On Racks
Black Leather Jacket

Sakiori Weaving

Grandpa's favorite shirt, or Grandma's favorite Sunday dress don't need to be sent to the trash heap. They can be woven into a new life and experience a new journey with you in a KEES Bag.

Leather and Suede

Maybe you have a favorite jacket passed down from a special person that just doesn't fit quite right. We would love to make a KEES bag using leather and suede materials that have rich meaning to you.

Color

Perhaps you have a favorite color you'd like to carry. Contact us. We will do our best to seek the materials and fullfill your desired color of a KEES bag..
